A partire dal 12 ottobre 2025 entrerà in vigore il Sistema di ingressi/uscite (EES) istituito dall’Unione Europea per la registrazione elettronica degli ingressi e delle uscite dei cittadini di Paesi terzi che attraversano le frontiere esterne dello spazio Schengen per soggiorni di breve durata. La registrazione è obbligatoria sia per i cittadini stranieri sottoposti all’obbligo di visto di corto soggiorno, sia quelli che ne sono esenti. Per “soggiorni di breve durata” si intende un periodo di massimo 90 giorni su 180 giorni, calcolato come periodo unico per tutti i Paesi europei che utilizzano l’EES.

Starting on 12 October 2025, the Entry/Exit System (EES) established by the European Union for the electronic registration of entries and exits of third-country nationals crossing the external borders of the Schengen area for short stays will come into force. Registration is mandatory for both foreign nationals subject to the short-stay visa requirement and those who are exempt from it. “Short stays” means a period of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, calculated as a single period for all European countries using the EES.
